How to get your business found on Google on the Central Coast

Practical steps to help Central Coast customers find your business on Google: your Business Profile, reviews, your website and what to write.

When someone in Terrigal searches for a plumber, or someone in Tuggerah searches for a café, Google shows local businesses first. You don't need to be a marketing expert to show up. You need a few things done properly.

1. Set up your Google Business Profile

This is the box with your hours, phone number, photos and reviews that appears on Google and Google Maps. It's free, and for most local searches it matters more than your website. - Choose the right main category - Add the suburbs and towns you serve - Add real photos of your work, your team and your premises - Keep your hours up to date, including public holidays

2. Ask for reviews

Reviews are one of the strongest signals Google uses for local results. Ask every happy customer, and make it easy by sending them a direct link. Reply to every review, good or bad.

3. Make your website fast and clear

Google favours sites that load quickly on a phone and are easy to use. Every page should say clearly what you do and where you do it.

4. Use the words your customers use

Think about what people actually type: "electrician Gosford", "web designer Central Coast", "café Erina". Use those words naturally in your page titles, headings and text. Don't stuff them in.

5. Name the towns you serve

If you work across the Coast, say so: Gosford, Erina, Terrigal, Tuggerah, Wyong, The Entrance. One clear section is better than a separate, near-identical page for every suburb, which Google treats as spam.

6. Answer real questions

Short, useful articles that answer your customers' questions, like this one, bring in visitors who are already looking for what you do.

7. Keep your details the same everywhere

Use the same business name, phone number and area on your website, your Business Profile, Facebook and any directories.
